NHL Headquarters

drive21 teamed up with TPG Architecture to bring the new home office for North America’s National Hockey League (NHL) to life. This impressive project is located in One Manhattan West, a 67-story tower, with the NHL occupying floors 23 through 27, encompassing a total of 160,000 square feet.

NHL memorabilia is showcased throughout the headquarters, adding a unique and personal touch. Highlights include a wall with pucks signed by players, a partition made of hockey sticks, and a corridor lined with uniforms from the league’s member clubs.

As the Environmental Graphic Design (EGD) project management team, drive21 assisted in and executed the development, engineering, fabrication, and installation of numerous custom-built features. Notable installations include:

• Stanley Cup Shrine: An engraved stainless steel wall honoring past champions.
• Signed Puck Wall: A dedicated space for visiting players to leave their autographs.
• Custom Display Case: Housing a variety of goalie masks from legendary players.
• Two-Story Acrylic Movable Wall: A standout piece in the café, encapsulating game-used hockey sticks.

Additionally, drive21 produced and installed various thematic features throughout the space, emphasizing game strategies, jargon, and hockey culture. These areas include:

• Hockey-Themed Corridors: Including trading cards, vintage posters, and game tickets.
• Collaboration Booths: Illustrated with hockey blades, historical patents, and action snapshots.
• Printed Wallcoverings: Murals in hallways and booths.
• Glass Treatments: Featured in breakout areas, conference rooms, and the boardroom.
• Metal Displays: Satin brushed aluminum displays for the Stanley Cup shrine and plaques.
• Dimensional Lettering and Fabricated Displays: Highlighting hockey sticks and pucks.
• Quote Wall: Frames for the ‘All About Hockey’ gallery and autograph puck wall.
