Campari

drive21 had the privilege of partnering with the Gensler NY team on the new Campari NYC headquarters. Campari, now occupying two upper floors in the landmarked W.R. Grace building, has doubled their workspace from their previous San Francisco headquarters to 65,000 square feet, offering stunning views of neighboring Bryant Park.

Given Campari’s rich Italian heritage and esteemed position in the premium spirits industry, we were excited to collaborate on some of the most sophisticated executions we’ve seen in a while. The project featured an array of stunning elements, from intricate detailing down to sleek code and wayfinding signage.

Material-wise, the project presented numerous challenges, but our collective team rose to the occasion, flawlessly executing every specified detail. Among the standout features are the brick lounge wall, for which we engineered, fabricated, and installed magnetically brushed brass brick faces inscribed with the names of Campari offices worldwide. These plates were thoughtfully integrated with traditional bricks. This display is flanked by a “Toasting Life Together” neon sign, adding a traditional yet vibrant touch.

A significant aspect of the design also included a variety of custom frames, ranging from ornate to sleek and modern, tailored to the aesthetic of each display location. Upon arriving at each elevator lobby, visitors are greeted by two stunning custom six-layered etched and filled brushed brass Campari logos.

And of course, the centerpiece of the headquarters is the two-story cerused-oak wall inspired by a Depero brick artwork from an Italian building facade. This installation serves as a backdrop to the full-scale Fortunato bar.
